Senior Services Idea Starter: Grandparents and Grandchildren Event

The Brookfield, CT, Senior Center is inviting local senior citizens to bring their grandchildren, or just themselves, for an afternoon of fun with Larry Noiva (a Connecticut ventriloquist) and his gang of puppets. Since it is summer, ice cream will also be served.

The event is planned for Friday, 11 August, beginning at 12:30 PM. Reservations are requested.

Library Services Idea Starter: Pet Care Presentation

The Cumberland, RI, Public Library is hosting a presentation by the Ocean State Animal Coalition designed to emphasize, for children aged 5-12, the importance of preparing for a new pet to join the family and to help them them understand many aspects of pet responsibility.

The presentation is scheduled for Tuesday, 1 August (2:00-3:30 PM). The cost is 50¢ per child.
