Education Idea Starter: Parent University

Bethel, CT, Public Schools sponsor an annual Parent University, a free series of workshops designed to provide parents and caregivers with an opportunity to gain a better understanding about what their children are learning and to become a full partner in the education of their children.

This year’s event, the fourth annual one, is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 24 February (6:30-8:30 PM).

Planned sessions include (among others): “Digital Daughter: The Dos and Don’ts of a Digital Generation” (for Grades 6-12), “A Parent’s Guide to Raising Lifelong Readers” (for Grades 3-5), “Helping Your Child Transition to the Next Generation Science Standards” (for Grades K-12), and “Social Media: Strategies to Support Internet Safety” (for Grades 6-12).
