Economic Development Idea Starter: Business Assistance Program for Job Creation

The City of Portland, ME, operates a Business Assistance Program for Job Creation that offers grants to new and expanding City businesses for projects that result in the creation of permanent net new jobs. A private match is required in an amount that is at least equal to the grant requested.

Among other requirements, the recipient must create one (1) full-time job (33+ hours/week) for every $10,000 of grant funding.
